Prepare for the event!
Haven’t paddled before? Feeling unfit at the moment? Want to get an edge on your fellow competitors? There is no better way to prepare than to get out on the water and get a feel for what it is like out there!
AROC Sport highly recommends some kind of training before the event to make the experience on the event day more enjoyable for participants. Paddling is a fun activity, but requires the use of muscles that are not normally exercised. There are also very simple tips to paddle more effectively that can be given by any experienced kayakers to improve your technique, and your style.
AROC Sport recommends the following training options.
Situated on Narrabeen Lake, ProKayaks offer kayak hire and lessons for all levels of paddlers.
ProKayaks also has a number of both the 2 seater and 3 seater kayaks that are used for the Team Challenge. So you can head over to Narrabeen Lake and do some practicing. You can also hire craft from Pro Kayaks for the event and they will deliver them to the start and pick up at the finish. www.prokayaks.com.au /02 9970 7081
